So at the beginning of the month I was checking out what games were coming out. I’m not made of money so I can only pick a couple to buy and review. Transformers (Activision / Traveller’s Tales) was one of the games I thought might be cool, but I ended up with Tenchu Z (which kinda sucked) and The Darkness (which I love). Thank god I didn’t pick Transformers.
I am just cruizin’ the net looking for stories and, I just wanted to see how the Transformers game was. It kind of looked cool on gametrailers.com. As far as the movie goes, I hope it tanks. I hate Michael Bay (he’s a dick… I’ve worked with him), and every time his movies tank it gives me joy. Back to the game…so I took a look at the reviews today (even though it came out last Tuesday…I know I’m a douche), and it was unanimous…The game sucks.
What is up with this sh*t? Every major movie release comes out with a game, and it seems that you better think twice about buying the game before reading the review. Do the movie studios not care? “Just make the f*#king game!… we don’t care if it’s good or not, just get it done on budget and finish it before the movies’ release date!” What the f*#k? What a waste! I think I am getting game smarter, the more I write this blog. I think the game trailer is not the end all be all of the game. The only accurate incite (hype) is either reading about the game on Gamespot or checking the pre-sales on ebgames.com. If the game comes out in the top ten than it may be good. My advise is beware of a game based on a movie…you could get screwed!
I’m sure that most people don’t give a crap that they don’t have an HDMI out port on their Xbox 360. I for one have used both component and HDMI on my 42″ HD plasma, and I can tell the difference. Well now I can have my cake and eat it too. MaxConsole forums reports that XCM, manufacturer of replacement console cases and cables, plans to release an HDMI cable for use on regular white xbox 360 systems.
According to XCM, the cable will be the first to allow a full 1080p HDMI connection on the white Xbox 360. Maxconsole says the designs are “nearly finished” and will be finalized in about four weeks. I hope this cable isn’t too expensive. A regular HDMI cable is about $120
So If you bought the Xbox Elite for its HDMI out port, you wasted your money ($180 more than the 360)…. but you still have that 120 gig hard drive penile extension attached to your cool black box. And now here’s a trailer for GTA 4 (Rockstar Games)
So I played 18 holes today and shot a 98…I know…I suck. Then I went straight to my local Game Stop to pick up my pre-sold copy of The Darkness. I almost got a freekin’ boner on the way home, I was so excited! I popped that bad boy into the old XboX 360, and booted up. I felt like I was preparing shot of heroine. The anticipation was maddening. Was this game all hype, or will it be all that it’s cracked up to be? I gotta say guys…this game is f*#king awesome. I’ve only spent about three hours on it (just scratching the surface), but I am ready for a full day of The Darkness (Starbreeze/2K Games).
Whats better than being a bad ass, murdering, hit man for the mob? How about all that plus being possessed by a malevolent dark presence that bestows you with supernatural powers. If this is your bag BABY, then check out “The Darkness” (Starbreeze). Based on the Top Cow comic, this is sure to be a winner…At least I’m up for some good old fashion mob violence.
Wow…I was just stumbling around the internet, and I ran across this awesome site. What a trip. It’s a history of gaming consoles. Now a lot of them I remembered, but a lot of them I didn’t. Atari, Coleco, Magnavox Odyssey, Fairchild Channel F (yes I did encounter this one), Mattel Intellivision and so on and so forth. So take a trip down memory lane and be glad for the advancement of gaming technology.
