Yes I am talking about Mario Strikers Charged. I know…I know..This is a freekin’ kids game right? Yes it’s a kids game but aren’t all these games. I’m pushing 40 and I still playing video games, and so are you hypocritical geek f*#k! Alright, Alright! back to the game.

So this weekend was my nephews (twins) 8th birthday. My parents got them the Wii (of course) so I got them an extra Wii-mote and Numchuck… and Mario Strikers Charged.
I was at Game Stop picking up the Wii controllers and my buddy over there recommended Mario Strikers Charged (Nintendo). He said that it’s a big seller, and got good reviews. Plus it just came out on July 30, and nice to get a game fresh off the presses.I checked out the review on gametrailers.com and it sounded cool.
A sequel to 2005’s Super Mario Strikers for the GameCube, Mario Strikers Charged returns the mustachioed plumber and his crew to the pitch for a rousing round of footie, as the Brits may or may not say. Mario Strikers Charged is the second game for the Wii to take advantage of Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection for online play, with the first being Pokemon Battle Revolution released in June.
There is some great new features that steps this up a notch. First the multiplayer mode works for both offline and online. Second there is more sidekick characters to choose from (each with unique megastrike shots). Third goaltending minigame during megastrike shots is pretty cool. Finally there are lots of different attacks and weapons to use (especially when you kick it so hard, it lights your opponent on fire).
Overall I think it’s a great game for all. It’s definitely not FIFA 2008(EA)… If your looking for a game that requires skill, your barking up the wrong tree. This is a fast and hectic passed game…it’s all in fun. I didn’t get to experience online play, but how could it suck (right?). If you were a fan of Super Mario Strikers, this game is definitely for you. So what are you waiting for Monkey breath! Go get your (Donkey) Kong on!!!
