Not Enough Sex in Video Games!!!

retard.jpg

This coming from Julian Eggebrecht, the president of Factor 5 (Developer of titles such as Lair, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and BallBlazer Champions) at the Leipzig Games Convention. Here’s his exact comment: “Games do not have sex and there is something wrong with that because it says essentially that games are what children play.” Taken out of context it sounds like he’s some kind of pedophile. I got this from an article on gamespot.com that Emma Boyes wrote. The article is about Eggebrecht complaining about the ERBC outlawing Man Hunt 2. He’s worried about Factor 5’s new game Lair that is coming out in September. Check it out:

Julian Eggebrecht, the president of Factor 5, came to that opinion while trying to get a T for Teen rating for his company’s forthcoming dragon fighter, Lair for the PlayStation 3. In order to do this, the San Rafael, California-based studio went through a process with the ESRB over “weeks and months,” where it tweaked every bit of the game that the ratings body wanted it to.

Eggebrecht said, “You can set up to 5,000 people on fire, and they run around and scream, and that’s fine because there’s no blood.” The executive was not impressed with the games rating system in the US and called it “problematic.” He added, “It’s a flat-out bizarre system, and I think it has no relation to what is happening in other media.” He gave examples of violent movies such as Bonnie and Clyde, Natural Born Killers, and A Clockwork Orange.

Eggebrecht outlined how he and his colleagues across the Atlantic were “very concerned” that Manhunt 2 was banned in the UK by the British Board of Film Classification. “An outright banning cannot happen [in the US], ” he told the delegates at the conference, “That Manhunt 2 got banned in the UK… It’s a very scary development.”

This dude is comparing apples and oranges with the rating of movies with the rating of games. I think that gaming just doesn’t need sex…What’s the f*@king point? Their F*@king cartoon characters for Christ sake!!! I posted a comment on gamestop pertaining to this:

Does this guy realize that games and film are two different things. Gaming is a kid based media (you can’t ignore that). I think this guy wants to have more… sex with kids!

Then I got yelled at by a couple of geeks that want to see CG characters getting it on!

Eggebrecht wants there to be more sexual content in games so that people will stop thinking of gaming as a kid-based media.

Then Geek # 2 – DustinKGS

Gaming is very much an adult based media. The average game player is 33 and has been gaming for 12 years.

Pretty damn reliable site right there.

They should be rated the same as movies. Most states are moving towards a law just like how it is with an R rating. You gotta be 17 to get in, you gotta be 17 to buy the M game. That’s perfectly logical, the ESRB needs to quit acting like they’re somehow doing some good when really are they’re doing is being overcritical and hurting developers.

DUDES… YOU REALLY NEED TO GO OUT AND GET LAID BY A REAL WOMAN!!!!
