Breaking up is Hard to do : (

Well it looks like Bungie (makers of Halo 3) and Microsoft have split up after their 7 year relationship. Wow…thank God they didn’t have kids…it makes things much more complicated when there’s kids involved… WHAT THE HELL AM I TALKING ABOUT????.
Bungie developed Halo and they were bought by Microsoft back in 2000. This morning, Bungie announced it was officially splitting away from Microsoft to become an independent, privately held developer, Bungie LLC. Microsoft will continue to retain a minority stake in Bungie and continue its long-standing publishing agreement with the company.

According to inside sources, Bungies Producers were done with the whole Halo thing and thought it was time move on to bigger and better things. “Bungie is like a shark,” said Bungie founder Jason Jones. “We have to keep moving to survive. We have to continually test ourselves, or we might as well be dolphins. Or manatees.” I think they made the right decision…but I don’t think this is the end of Halo.
“While we are supporting Bungie’s desire to return to its independent roots, we will continue to invest in our Halo entertainment property with Bungie and other partners, such as Peter Jackson, on a new interactive series set in the Halo universe,” said Shane Kim, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios.
I guess Bungie had enough of being talked down to by their husband (Microsoft)…and after some therapy decided that this was not a healthy relationship and had to be terminated. I think Bungie needs to live on its own for awhile…or at least until they can find a more nurturing relationship with more love, support and understanding (weep weep weep).
