Hel Awaits You!!!!!!
So I gave you geeks some helpful tips on how to get through the final battle on Viking: Battle for Asgard. Now here’s some tips on how to finish the game, and finish off the Goddess Hel and rid Midgard of The Legion…Once and for all!
After the giant pain in the ass battle you just completed (you died and reincarnated a f*#king thousand times) , it’s now time for a real pain in the ass… Hels Castle (woooooooo)!
You’ll begin by entering the front door of the castle, and run up a ramp to a platform. A bunch of Legion soldiers will begin to incarnate in front of you, so get your melee on butt-plug! After you finish these turds off you will run into the same on the next ramp (obviously kill those bastards also). Now you will get up to the next tier where there will be a Shaman playin’ Betty Crocker baking up fresh Legion soldiers, just to f*#k with you. Now you know what to do… get to work you lazy bastard and start hacking at those staffs surrounding the Shaman (and the soldiers that will attack you) and truncate the bitch!!! Now you need to go to the middle of that porthole and press the B button to summon one of your good Shaman. When she appears Legion soldiers will keep incarnating and you will have to fight them off and defend her so she can do her magical sh*t. When you fight off the remainder of the Legion, Freya will appear and transport you to the next tier. Now onto the next pain in the ass.
You will now have to fight your way up to the top tier of the castle where Hel awaits you. Each tier you reach there will be more and more Legion soldiers ready to kick your ass so hack your way through… oh, and when they incarnate in front of you hold you LB (left button) and hit X for a kill move while they are still materializing. At least you can take one of those bastards out before they attack. Of course you will meet up with a couple of Shaman on the way so go ahead and hack the staffs then truncate the Shaman and move on.
At one point you will meet up with a Legion Champion (the big dude with the huge sword). By now you have probably accrued a full power bar and you need to use it. Hit the RT (right trigger…stupid) and the Y button to get your lightning bolt power on. Zap that big mother f*#ker by hitting the LB and A+X… hold him there until you fill you life bar, then you’ve weakened this limp dick. Now proceed to hack away untill you see the B button appear. Now, hit the B button, thenA a bunch of times, then B, then X… and Voi La… he’s a bloody mess, leaving you with a bunch of power orbs. After that you’ll have another Shaman to kill, then it’s on to Hell!
When you reach the top tier teh Goddess Hel will be waiting for you in a ball of flames. She will make those god dam four staffs appear around the room that the Shaman use… no problem… hacking time!!! Not so fast my young little video weenie! Hel will surround those staffs with walls of fire… sectioning the room off into four. Now the fun begins… she starts incarnating a sh*t-load of Legion soldiers that you have to fight off… oh and did I say that the fire will kill you if you get pushed into it? You now have to fight & not get burned! Eventually the fire wall will go down (for a couple seconds at a time) and you need to bolt past it so you can get to the staff that you need to hack the f*#k out of (there are four to deal with). My advise it to keep to the center away from the flames when you are fighting (you’ll know what I mean when you get there). The worst pain in the ass about this segment is that if you die before you get all the staffs it will start you at square one… having to hack all four staffs again. Don’t Die! It took me 4 f*#king hours to to get past this.
Now When you have destroyed all four staffs you still need to fight soldiers for a little while… Once again Don’t Die… it will start you from square one (am I repeating myself or am I adamant about not dying when you have destroyed the fourth staff). Now the fire will die down finally and it will be just you and Hel. She will transform into a half giant and half her (looks kind of funny) and you will fight her just like the regular giants. If you have a full power bar hit the RT and once again summon your lightning bolt power and hold LB and A+X to zap her with the Dark Side stile lightning bolt. This will once again weaken her and give you more life. Now… Start hacking at the back of her legs. When the B button appears your almost home free. Hit B – Y – Y and A a bunch of times (sounds familiar). Now she will throw you off and wait for the B to appear. Now hit the B-Y- and X a bunch of times. Now for the final kill move. B-X-Y and A a bunch of times. You did it dude!!!!
Dude I had to play through that whole sequence two times for you f*#kers. You better appreciate this walkthrough, cause my fingers ache from playing from 11:30am to 5:30pm. Owwwww that sucked.
So over all, I liked the game. It was fun to play and some of the tasks were pretty challenging. Yea I know that Gamespot.com gave it a sh*tty review but that guy has his head up his ass. He’s f*#king comparing this to Gods of War, and commenting on it not being authentic to Viking history (screw off you elitist douche-bag), or the graphics not being great. You know what I had a fun week of play on this game. I liked the slow motion kill moves and the big battles. Who f*#king cares if the “Story wasn’t gripping”… It’s fun to chop the heads off the bad guys and free your soldiers from captivity. I give Viking: Battle for Asgard 3 stars out of 5. If ya don’t want to buy it it is definitely worth renting.
