So I wasn’t going to deal with Grand Theft Auto 4 (Rockstar Games), simply because I got f*#king bored of the last three (San Andreas being the last I played)… But my bro said “What the f*#k dude? The whole world is freaking out over the release of this game… you need to see what the hype is all about!” So I went over to GameStop yesterday and pre-ordered it. I watched the news last night ans saw a whole bunch of jerk-offs camped outside Best Buy and Circut City for their midnight release. I thought to myself I wonder what GameStop will be like tomorrow morning? Well…check it out:

So this is what I ran into this morning… A f*#king line… I knew it! I had to be patient. The dude in front of me had his 2 year old with him in line, and joked with me telling his little guy “Cum’on little dude… we’re gonna’ beat up hookers and steal cars”. I laughed my ass off. Also in line with us (which no one else noticed) was South Park Co-Creator Matt Stone. I worked with him on the movie Team America, but I was hesitant to draw attention to him (I’m sure he wouldn’t appreciate a bunch of douche-bags asking for his autograph), so I didn’t bother saying hi.
I finally got my copy of GTA 4 after a half hour of waiting (not that bad), and I brought it home and booted up the trusty Xbox 360. I almost had one of those hesitant moments where I wanted to savor the anticipation (like when I got BioShock and Halo3). The opening cut scene was really cool. They also incorporated the credits into the opening cut scenes, which seems to be a new thing… almost like a real movie.
I have only played the game for about four hours today, and there was definitely a couple of improvements. The graphics (of course) were better, smoother game play, the story is cool (I like the hero character Niko) and YOU CAN GET LAID! Yes I’m not lying. You get introduced to a girl (Michelle) that you can start dating… and if you play your cards right you can hit that sh*t! It’s pretty funny. I took her out on two dates (we went bowling on the first date and shot darts on the second) and got lucky!
The game is very much the same as all the others so far. You get sent on criminal errands (to say the least) and make more money and gain street cred as you go. I have a feeling though, that further down the line we will find that Niko has more up his sleeve than we know in the beginning. I think he may be some kind of X-KGB hit man or special operative that is running away from something that went down in the old country (no I’m not f*#king crazy). I need to give this game some more time before I make a decision whether I like it or not… I’ll get back to you later… I got some hookers to beat up and thugs to kill!!!
