Your in Bad Company Mutha F*#ka!!!!

That’s right ya little greasy trolls… I got Batlefield: Bad Company (EA / DICE). I was reading up on what’s hot right now (besides the weather, ha ha… I know I’m a f*#king loser), and it looks like the consensus was… well… Battlefield: Bad Company! So I called around and found it available at the Gamestop in Santa Monica. The reviews I read were loving this game, including gamespot.com (even those angry belligerent douchebags on the gamespot message board liked it) so it may be worth a try.

When I got the game home I first had to eject GTA IV (Rockstar Games) from the Xbox 360… this was tough… Ive grown attached to this game… and I’m only 55% done with it (wow that was very fanboy gay of me). Anyways I popped the game in and and booted up! The opening cut scene was just like the opening credits of a real movie (I see that more and more now a days).
You start out in a training mode (which I am a big fan of) which will help you figure out how to use the controls. Now right away you are tossed right into the sh*t. You have to take out some big Howitzer type guns that the enemy is creaming your forces with.
I actually did pretty well for the first time through… I got to the last gun, then I got killed.

So far here’s my what I like about the game:
The graphics were excellent (reminiscent of Gears of War) , the sound is incredible, game play is smooth as silk, the character voices are well cast, the musical score is awesome and the story is cool so far.

What I don’t like so far are the controls:
1) Running is a pain in the ass! What do I mean by that? To run you have to press the left joystick. Why does that suck? It sucks because you need that joystick to move forward… so to run, you have to have the joystick pressed and control the direction of your dude. I like the way GTA IV did it better… I know, I know… shut the f*#k up and get used to it.

2) The enemy is hard to f*#king spot! You have a GPS screen that shows little red dots where they are, but they’re f*#king hidden behind bushes tree lines and buildings. WTF?!! I need a gun with a scope or a pair of binoculars to find them… I’m gettin’ my ass shot off out there!!!!!

3) No duck and cover. What do I mean by this? In Gears of War you hit the RB (right button…stupid) ,when approaching something to hide behind (like a wall or a rock), and you will automatically duck behind it. Then you can fight from safe cover. On this game you have the crouch button… it doesn’t help very well… I got my ass shot off!

4) Driving! Why the f*#k don’t they just f*#king standardize these controls for all driving in games. Instead of the standard:
RT (right trigger) Accelerate
LT (left trigger) Brake / Reverse

This game has a confusing and hard to negotiate:
LT Accelerate
LB (left button) Brake / Reverse
A Accelerate
B Brake / Reverse

Why does this suck? Because your f*#king steering with the left joystick!!!! Now you have to steer, accelerate, brake and reverse all with left buttons… It doesn’t make sense! It’s a bummer. Using the A and B buttons is OK but I have to get used to it.

Ok… I did check out the options in the start menu to change the controls, but all it had was flopping the controls (which won’t help sh*t). If anyone out there knows of a way to customize this, please speak up… I may not the smartest dude, but at least I get laid. Unlike you… ya booger eatin’ gaming geek!

StumbleUpon It!

I’ll probably still pick it up sometime whenever I can scrape up the cash, even though I HATE clicking in the stick to run. That’s so annoying!

It is worth getting. Besides the problems I have with the controls… the game is great. If you can’t afford to buy it, rent it.
