I just got Viking: Battle for Asgard (Sega / The Creative Assembly)! Asgard? Sounds like something you wear in prison to keep from getting ass raped. Well anyways, The game rocks! It reminds me a lot of the Lord of the Rings games.
Basically your this Viking named Skarin, who gets mortally wounded in a battle with demons from the under world, who are trying to take over Midgard (middle earth… you D&D geeks know what I’m talking about). You are about to die when a goddess named Freya (you may know her from the story of Beowulf) approaches you and brings you back to life, bestowing you with magic powers to lead the human army against the demon hordes from the underworld. So I read an article on ign.com about the release of the MLB 2K8 (2k games) demo on Xbox live marketplace so I decided to download it and review it! First of all you have to play with the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Sox. I am a Yankees fan (always have been since I was a kid) so playing with the Sox wasn’t my idea of fun. There was a definite learning curve (no pun intended) with this game. I went through the pitching tutorial and still had a hard time figuring out how to pitch. The first inning I pitched, the Rockies scored 21 runs on me. It took me several innings to figure out the pitching thing. The tutorial didn’t give me enough info to get my sh*t together. (more…)
By Pole, I mean Pole Position (Namco) you sicko! Is there anyone out there who has heard of this game? All you young gaming geeks may not remember this classic arcade game but this was the first great driving game. Anyways, a new version on this game is being released for the iPod. Check this article out that I found on ign.com (more…)
Microsoft makes it’s big attempt to get back some of their market share from Nintendo with the release of the Xbox 360 Arcade! The Xbox 360 Arcade (for those who don’t know) it the replacement for the core bundle, which was the cheapest of the console packages. The 360 Arcade unit will retail for $279.99 in the US and will come with a wireless controller, HDMI output, a 256MB memory card, and five Xbox Live Arcade games: Pac-Man Championship Edition, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket, and Feeding Frenzy. With the Wii priced at $249.99 with one controller and one game I think there may be some competition this holiday season. That’s if Nintendo doesn’t lower their price to compete…but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Microsoft is also pushing the Xbox live thing with some new releases of games and kids shows for download. Microsoft also announced today that for the first time ever, Looney Tunes cartoons featuring characters such as Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny will be made available for download through Xbox Live. Nickelodeon is also adding three new shows to Live: Blue’s Clues, The Backyardigans, and iCarly. Microsoft also announced Shrek-N-Roll exclusively for the service.
Blues Clues??? I guess Microsoft is preying on the Crack like addiction of the younger generation of gamers. Speaking of Crack…this video is dedicated to Angry Slacker. Two of his favorite things Wesley Willis (”Mom Smokes Crack”) and Sk8boarding.
