My heart was pounding as I drove into the parking structure at the Marina Mall. I exited the car and B lined it to Gamestop Marina del Rey to get my long awaited and anticipated copy of Gears of War 3! No assh*le… I didn’t pick up the game at midnight on the 20th (Click on the link above to see how I learned my lesson on that shit). I said f*#k it!… I’ll pick it up an hour or so after they open on the 20th! I had heard from one of the Gamestop employees that there was over 300 pre-sold copies awaiting the sweaty palms of the boner prone fanboys all over the area… I had enough of that at E3…
What was I talking about?
Oh year Gears of War 3. (more…)
This is a post written by one of my many loyal fans. Looks like Madden 2012 has found a new poster boy!
It looks like the Cleveland Browns are going to need to draft a running back. Why? Browns running back Peyton Hillis just beat out Michael Vick to be featured on the cover of Madden 2012. Sucks to be a Browns fan.
For those unaware of the game’s history, many of the players that have been featured on the Madden cover since 1999 have ended up having crappy seasons or getting hurt. It is known as the “Madden Curse.” Marshall Faulk was on the 2003 cover and by 2005, he was out of the game. It seems that gracing the cover of Madden is like playing roulette with your career.
Another stat that doesn’t bode well for the Browns is that every player from the AFC North that has been featured on the Madden cover has been injured. Granted, Hillis is only the third player to be featured from the division, but so far things don’t look well.
Of course, it could have been worse for Eagles fans. Michael Vick was the other front runner for the cover of Madden 2012. Can you imagine if Vick made the cover and then was injured? He has already been bitten once by the Madden curse. He was on the 2004 cover, and then proceeded to break his leg. Oh, and that whole dog fighting thing happened.
To me, it seems that if NFL players want to gamble, they should go play online casino games and decline to be considered for Madden. Granted, many of you probably think that the curse is silly and only a f#@king dolt would turn down the opportunity of a lifetime to be featured on the game. All I know is that 11 players have been bitten by the curse so far. Will Hillis be next?
Madden 2012 is scheduled to be released from EA Sports on August 30th.
So as I wrote in the last post I was thinking of playing through BioShock2 again to experience these “alternate endings”. The catch is that you have to harvest all the Little Sisters and kill the characters that you may have let live the first time. I played yesterday for about four hours or so (I’m just wasting my life away… it’s just sad), and you really pick up a sh*tload more Adam when you harvest the Little Sisters (which I knew). This changes the dynamic of the game. You pick up Plasmids and Tonics much more rapidly, so you get more powerful…quicker. Things are getting pretty interesting, and I’m finding other areas that I didn’t even explore. I’m actually playing through the game quicker and covering more ground.
Well it’s time to get back to the game(I’m such a geek)… I’ll report back later!
Now enjoy this cute and cuddly music video by Skinless
BioShock 2 Baby! Is is f*#king awesome! The Boys at 2K Marin have picked up right where 2K Boston left off. I am so happy to be back in this twisted world of Rapture. I’ve been playing for 2 days now, and I’ve found that I have a hard time stopping… “Just one more minute”… “I’ll just finish this next level”… “I should probably get a life”. I have a feeling that this game will be over sooner that I want it to be… but that’s to be discovered.
Just to fill you kiddies in on what this new adventure holds in store. You’re a Big Daddy… as a matter of fact, your the first Big Daddy (I think?), and you on a quest to locate the Little Sister you were matched up with. The game play is pretty much the same as the first game, but there are some new weapons and ammo, new enemies (including the nasty Big Sisters) and you get to walk outside on the ocean floor.
So far this game is a blast, and I really forgot how much I loved the first game. I’ll report back to you with some helpful tips.
I’m serious! I have a boner! I have BioShock 2(2K Marin) coming tomorrow (according to Amazon) and I HAVE WOOD ha ha ha ha ha (wow I think I’ve finally lost it).
Well the body hasn’t even gotten cold yet on Assassins Creed 2, and I’m lickin’ my chops ready for more hours of wasting my life away staring at my TV with a controller in my hands. I’ve been waiting for almost three years to get back to Rapture, and tomorrow I’m goin’ back. I’m ready to turn out the lights and get creeped out for hours at a time… wow… I used to be cool… now I’m a gaming geek. What has become of me : (
